MEMBERSHIP

ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP

Membership is extended to men and women 18 years of age or older who are lineal descendants of a Native American or a Friend of a Native American ancestor who provided a passive activity to a Native American within the United States of America prior to 1900. Membership inquiries are welcome. The prospective member has twelve months from the date of first contact to complete the application process. Extensions may be granted upon approval of the Executive Board. All new members shall receive a complimentary certificate of membership and a choice of Large or Mini medal.

The following is a partial list of acceptable passive activities that may be acceptable for the Friend category:

• Teachers                                                             • Traders                                        • Trading Post Owners/Operators

• Witness/Signers of Deeds                                • Agents                                        • Translators

• Trappers                                                             • Interpreters                                 • Protectors

• Negotiators                                                       • Wampum Stringers                    • Explores

• Employer of Indians

• Mayflower Ancestors alive in 1621 when the New Plymouth Colony-Wampanoag Peace Treaty was signed.

FEES

Life membership fee is $275. The fee ($275) shall be submitted with the application, along with a $35 non-refundable application fee, for a total of $310, payable to ODNAF.

ODNAF is an IRS Sec. 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable entity.
